The Barnes & Mullins BM650 Salvino is a classic, F-Hole scroll top mandolin. It is named after a recently uncovered 'Salvino' model from the turn of the 20th century. F-Hole style mandolins are historically favoured for bluegrass music, as they are considered to have more 'cut-through' in a ensemble situation. This allows themselves to be heard more easily above other acoustic instruments and therefore carry the melody.
What we say about the BM650
The BM650 is built with solid tone woods, therefore it is resonant and full toned. The stained finish also leaves it looking vintage and very handsome. It has an antique vibe and great sound, so if you're in a bluegrass band, this is the mandolin for you.
